Sarwat Gilani contemplates establishment of future political party

Lahore: Esteemed Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani has indicated her intention to establish her own political party in the coming years.

During an interview with a private television channel, the luminary of Lollywood delved extensively into her career trajectory and prospective plans. “Numerous political parties have extended offers to me due to my consistent advocacy for the marginalized,” she revealed.

Gilani expressed the possibility of charting her path by creating a political party in the future, asserting her commitment to making education universally accessible in her political endeavors.

When discussing the prevailing themes in Pakistani dramas, she lamented the repetitive nature of scripts, citing the predominant fixation on the question of a female character’s marital prospects across all 26 episodes. “Presently, narratives are heavily centered around the mistreatment of women and extramarital affairs, particularly involving in-laws,” observed Gilani. She advocated for a shift towards showcasing the journeys of accomplished individuals, aligning with the preferences of the youth.

With two decades of experience in the industry, Gilani admitted to consciously avoiding roles that portray women in subjugated positions, as her personal convictions center on women’s rights and education. “I have devoted 20 years to this profession, but I am currently selective about the projects I undertake,” she asserted.
