Sufi sensation Sanam Marvi ends her third marriage

Marvi

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani sufi singer, Sanam Marvi, has parted ways with her third husband, Habib Qureshi, according to media reports.

The media reports stated that the local court of Lahore issued the divorce verdict on July 7, putting an end to their secret marriage.

The Lagi Bina singer has not faced a separation for the first time. Earlier, she divorced her second husband, Hamid Ali Bahlwal, citing violence as the reason for their split.

Marvi’s first marriage was to Aftab Ahmed, who was murdered in 2009 in Karachi.

Meanwhile, the vocal powerhouse has refrained from commenting on the separation, asserting that her decision to marry one or four times is a matter of personal choice.

Hailing from Sindh, Marvi gained widespread popularity following her debut in Coke Studio in 2010. Renowned for her soulful performances, she was ranked among the top three folk singers in Pakistan, alongside legends Abida Parveen and Tina Sani, according to a magazine report.

The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz awardee made headlines as Spotify named her the ambassador for their Equal Pakistan program in April, earning her a prominent feature on a billboard in Times Square.
