WATCH: Ushna Shah exposes Western media’s ‘misinformation’ on Gaza genocide

WEB DESK: Actress Ushna Shah has created a video that illustrates the historical context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Habs actress took to her social media to share the video, in which she and her friends play the roles of various nations involved, including Palestine, Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others. She creatively sheds light on the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the region.

Ushna Shah also used her platform to critique the way Western media portrays Palestinian resistance against Israeli settlers who have occupied their land, often characterising it as extremist militant activity.
She pointed out how AI-generated images and fake attack depictions are sometimes used to maintain support and funding for certain narratives.

In her message, the actor urged people to break their silence on the ongoing oppression and called for an end to the crisis in Gaza. Ushna Shah is one of several social media influencers who have openly expressed support for Palestine and advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The conflict has tragically resulted in the loss of over 6,000 Palestinian lives, with a significant number being children.
The conflict in Gaza has persisted for nearly 20 days, with Israeli airstrikes leading to the loss of 6,546 Palestinian lives, including 2,704 children, and leaving 17,439 others wounded, according to the health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza. In the past 24 hours alone, 756 Palestinians, including 344 children, lost their lives in Israeli strikes, as reported by the ministry.
