ISLAMABAD: Skywatchers across Pakistan will be able to witness the Flower Moon tonight, Monday, May 12.
It’s May’s first full moon and is expected to rise in the eastern sky after sunset and remain visible all night.
This time, it’s a micromoon—slightly smaller and dimmer than usual because the moon is at its farthest point from Earth. It will reach its peak at 9:56 PM (PKT).
Experts suggest finding a clear view of the eastern horizon for the best experience. The moon may appear orange or red as it rises, due to the same effect that gives sunsets their colour.

If you miss it tonight, you might still catch it nearly full flower moon in Pakistan on May 13 as well. The next full moon, the Strawberry Moon, is due on June 11.
The full moon in May is called the Flower Moon because flowers bloom around this time. In 2025, it will shine bright in the night sky and be easy to see with the naked eye.
