10 injured in motorway accidents linked to wheat residue fire

PINDI BHATTIAN: A harrowing scene unfolded near the M2 Motorway as the wheat residue in the fields along the motorway were being burnt. The incident which took place in the vicinity of Pindi Bhattian, caused at least 10 casualties, as per initial reports.

Reports indicate that the blaze quickly spiraled out of control, enveloping the area in thick smoke and leading to a series of traffic accidents on the motorway.

The efforts to contain the flames have proved challenging, said Pindi Bhattian Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) staff and rescue teams. Despite their efforts, the fire continues to rage on for over an hour.

The injured victims have been rushed to the tehsil headquarters in Pindi Bhattian for urgent medical attention.
