Adiala jail authorities rubbish rumours about Imran Khan’s health

RAWALPINDI: Adial Jail authorities have responded to the propaganda being done on social media, alleging that former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been moved from Adiala jail and is in deteriorating health.

The jail sources said, “Imran Khan is still in Adiala Jail and his health is also completely fine”. The said that there is no truth in the rumours of him being transferred from Adiala Jail to elsewhere. “Imran Khan is in his cell as usual,” Jail sources said.

The cell occupied by the former premier has been declared a part of New Town police station, Jail sources clarified. The incarcerated former PTI chief is on physical remand in the custody of New Town police station till December 2. He has been arrested by the police in a case registered regarding the September 28 protest, the jail authorities said on Sunday.

They added that the doctors of the jail hospital conduct daily medical examinations of Imran Khan, and his blood pressure and sugar level are normal. “Imran Khan exercises twice a day and according to the jail manual, all facilities are available to him,” Adiala Jail authorities said, adding that special care is being taken of his health and food.

“Staff is on duty at all times for the security of Imran Khan,” prison sources clarified.
