RAWALPINDI: In light of security concerns for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Summit, a ban was imposed on all types of visits at Adiala Jay, including those for PTI founder Imran Khan, sources stated on Monday.
A complete ban on all types of visits at Adiala Jail, also known as Central Jail, has been imposed until October 18th.
The ban also applied to Imran Khan, the former chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and his wife, Bushra Bibi, who are currently imprisoned. Sources have said that visits from party leaders, lawyers, and family members are restricted.

The ban has been implemented due to security concerns related to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, set for 15-16 October, in Islamabad.
Security is being heightened in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with Adiala Jail being located in the latter.
All prisoners will be subject to the ban, which is being overseen by the Punjab government.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi previously accused the PTI party of attempted to disrupt the summit. Due to such fears, the Pakistan army will also be providing security for the upcoming SCO summit.
