Adiala jail deputy superintendent detained for ‘facilitating’ Imran Khan

RAWALPINDI: Security agencies have detained Adiala jail Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram on charges of facilitating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan “beyond his authority”.
Sources said that Akram is under investigation by security agencies for allegedly conveying “secret messages” to the PTI founder as a “facilitator and intermediary”.

The Punjab Prisons inspector general has also been informed of the arrest, the sources said adding, following the investigation, departmental action will also be taken against Muhammad Akram.
Sources confirmed that Akram had already been removed from his post before he was taken into custody.
Sources said that Muhammad Akram was transferred to Lahore, however, three days after the Lahore transfer, he was again re-appointed as deputy superintendent of Adiala jail
