ANF’s nationwide crackdown yields major drug busts

In a series of coordinated operations against drug trafficking across the country, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has made significant progress, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of a substantial amount of narcotics.
ANF spokespersons reported that more than 88 kilograms of drugs were successfully recovered, and nine individuals were apprehended, in seven operations.
In one significant bust, on the M1 Motorway in Islamabad, 15.6 kilograms of hashish was seized from a vehicle. The authorities discovered the drugs concealed within hidden compartments in the vehicle.
In another operation at the Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad, a suspect and a woman on a motorcycle were taken into custody. During the search, ANF officers uncovered drugs hidden by the woman’s and on the motorcycle seat.

According to ANF’s spokesman, the confiscated narcotics included 2.2 kilograms of hashish, 500 grams of opium, and one kilogram of ice, all destined for export.
At Bacha Khan International Airport, ANF officers discovered 87 capsules filled with ice in a passenger’s stomach. The individual, hailing from Khyber, was attempting to leave for Qatar via flight number QR601.
The ANF’s operations extended to Jamrud in Khyber, where two suspects were arrested. A search of their residence yielded 5 kilograms of heroin, 200 grams of ice, and 50 narcotic pills.
In Quetta, ANF conducted another successful operation, recovering 62 kilograms of hashish from a hidden compartment in a pickup truck. The drugs had been concealed within the floor of the vehicle.
As a result of these operations, cases have been registered against the accused individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway to address this significant crackdown on drug trafficking.
