WEB DESK: In a series of targeted actions against drug trafficking, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has made significant strides in curbing the illicit drug trade across various cities in the country. The operations led to the apprehension of multiple suspects, the recovery of substantial quantities of illegal narcotics, and the prevention of dangerous substances from reaching the streets.
At Islamabad Airport, the ANF team uncovered 504 grams of heroin concealed within a passenger’s trolley bag. The individual, a resident of Wahari, was reportedly departing for Bahrain when the narcotics were discovered. This incident is a testament to the vigilance of ANF officials at the capital’s airport.
Islamabad witnesses 10% reduction in car theft incidents
In Rawalpindi, a parcel sent from the UK to a courier office raised suspicions. Upon inspection, ANF discovered 18 grams of weed, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to intercepting drug shipments at all levels.
In Lahore, ANF conducted a successful operation that resulted in the seizure of 7 kilograms of heroin and 940 grams of cocaine from three vehicles. The joint efforts of ANF officials from Lahore and Sheikhupura led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of drug trafficking.
A passenger residing in Khyber was apprehended at Allama Iqbal International Airport, with 500 grams of the potent drug “ice” hidden in their possession. The quick action by ANF prevented the illicit substance from being smuggled further.
At Jinnah International Airport, another drug interception occurred as ANF officials recovered 800 narcotic pills concealed within a passenger’s bag, emphasizing the importance of airport security measures in combating drug trafficking.
ANF’s operations extended to Karachi’s City Railway Station, where three accused individuals, residents of Quetta and Karachi, were arrested. A staggering 9 kilograms of ketamine were confiscated, underlining the determination of law enforcement to tackle drug-related crimes.
In Peshawar, a significant operation led to the interception of a considerable drug cache. ANF confiscated 57 kilograms and 600 grams of hashish, 12 kilograms of opium, 7 kilograms of heroin, and 1 kilogram of ice. Multiple suspects, including a woman from Charsadda, were taken into custody. It was revealed that the seized drugs were destined for Punjab, concealed within the trunk of a vehicle.

At Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar, ANF officials discovered 112 capsules filled with the powerful drug “ice” concealed within a passenger’s stomach. The individual, a resident of Khyber, was bound for Doha, highlighting the extensive measures taken by ANF to prevent drug smuggling via air travel.
ANF’s determination to combat drug trafficking also extended to uninhabited areas in Khyber, where 10 kilograms of hashish were discovered, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to targeting illegal drug production and distribution at all levels.
