Another spell of gusty winds, rain predicted for Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Another round of gusty winds and rain is predicted for Islamabad in the evening as the mercury crosses 40 degrees Celsius in the federal capital.

According to the met office, rain is also expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Sargodha. Showers are likely in Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat and Gujranwala.

Downpours could also hit Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sheikhupura, while isolated thunder‑showers may develop around Jhang, Noorpur Thal and Bhakkar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can expect rain in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Swabi and Mansehra. Showers are likely in Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Khyber, Waziristan and Bannu, with a chance of rain around Kohat, Hangu, Karak and Dera Ismail Khan.

Gilgit‑Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also in line for windy, thundery showers.

In contrast, most of Balochistan will stay very hot and dry, the Met Office adds.
