ATC approves Imran Khan’s plea to phone call his children

RAWALPINDI: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has approved two petitions of incarcerated former premier Imran Khan. Two separate petitions were filed by Imran Khan’s lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik.

One petition was regarding allowing Imran Khan to talk to his children on the phone and the second petition was about books not being provided to him in the jail.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Rawalpindi Special Anti-Terrorism Court heard and approved both the petitions.
The ATC has also issued orders to the Adiala Jail administration to immediately allow Imran Khan to talk with his children over phone.
The second petition on provision of books to the founder and former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also been approved. The ATC issued orders to immediately provide the available books to Imran Khan as well.

“This is every prisoner’s fundamental right; the jail administration should immediately implement the orders,” the court said in its order.
