ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) accepting the bail pleas of 40 Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers has ordered their immediate release in the November 26 protest case.
On Saturday, ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Mohammad Zulqarnain heard post-arrest bail applications of 40 PTI workers.
The cases, registered across Islamabad police stations, involve various offences, including rioting and damaging public property.
The court ordered those granted bail to submit surety bonds of Rs 5,000 each, after which they would be released.
Earlier on Friday, the ATC had granted bail to 250 PTI workers in the November 26 protests while rejecting bail applications of 150 other accused individuals involved in the same demonstrations.
The November 26 protests, led by PTI, spiraled into chaos, resulting in arrests and multiple cases against party workers and supporters.
The accused are charged under anti-terrorism laws for offences including rioting and disrupting public order.
It is worth noting that PTI had organised the Islamabad march, primarily from Peshawar, to demand the release of their imprisoned leader, Imran Khan.
