Bugti orders probe into ‘honour’ killing of woman, man

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to conduct a swift probe into the ‘honour’ killing of a man and a woman.
A video that is widely circulated on various social media platforms and has triggered nationwide outrage, shows the apparent murder of two individuals in an undisclosed location. The video sparked public anger with a call for an urgent investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Bugti has directed the law enforcement agencies to locate the crime scene and arrest the culprits involved in the heinous crime, the CM’s Secretariat Office said in a statement.

“The rule of law will not be compromised. Those who challenge the writ of the state will be dealt with firmly. No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands,” Bugti said.
Shahid Rind, a spokesperson for the provincial government, condemned the murder, calling it “reprehensible and grave insult to societal values and human dignity”.
Rind has assured the public of a swift investigation into the murder, reaffirming to do justice.
“The Balochistan government will not remain silent in the face of such cruelty. All legal means will be used to bring those responsible to justice,” Rind said.
Additionally, the Balochistan government has sought public assistance in identifying the suspects.
