Banning party government’s wishful thinking: PTI leaders

ISLAMABAD: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in response to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led government’s decision to ban their party, have stated that it is merely wishful thinking on the part of the government.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with other party leaders, Barrister Gohar said, “The Supreme Court clearly stated that the reserved seats belong to PTI. The government’s decision to ban PTI following the SC’s verdict has made it clear that PDM was part of a conspiracy to take over the bat symbol.”

He said, “We’ve seen the outcome of the cipher case; it had no substance. Article 6 should be applied against those engaging in unconstitutional activities despite the presence of the Constitution.”

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, claimed that the allies of the ruling coalition, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), do not support the government’s potential move to ban the party.

Ayub further said that at least 30 million people voted for PTI and Imran Khan. Ayub further said that that the policies the government has put in place are to blame for the country’s rising inflation rate.

Speaking at the press conference, leader Shibli Faraz said, “The puppet government’s press conference was all talk and no substance; today’s press conference was a political surrender.”

Earlier today, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, delivered a scathing critique of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and announced plans for a legal review of recent decisions concerning reserved parliamentary seats.

Addressing the media, Tarar stated, “Our wisdom was seen as weakness, and to a culture of abuse was promoted.” He condemned the political use of religion, noting that such tactics have been employed for years and are detrimental to the country’s progress.
