Part of building collapses in Lahore’s Services Hospital

LAHORE: A part of a three-storey building collapsed in Lahore’s Services Hospital on Thursday. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
According to police, the building was under-construction and was empty at the time of the incident.
Government officers to use bicycles for commuting
Police and rescue officials rushed to the site of the incident soon after it was reported.
They confirmed that no one had been injured or killed in the incident.
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had announced Rs2 billion renovation and upgrades for Services Hospital, Lahore.
Naqvi had given 90 days deadline for completion of upgrades, including change of water supply lines, construction of a new intensive care unit and relocation and revamping of administrative offices.
He urged swift action and instructed that the ground and other floors be vacated promptly to commence the transformation.
The work will proceed around the clock in three shifts.
