Caretaker government appoints new Naval Chief

ISLAMABAD: Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has been appointed as the new chief of the Pakistan Navy, Spokesman of the Pakistan Navy.
The change of command ceremony will be held in Islamabad on October 7, a spokesman for the Pakistan Navy said on Tuesday. Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf will be promoted on the same date, the spokesman said.
Ashraf was commissioned in the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1989. He has the experience of serving in key command and staff positions in Pakistan Navy. He has assumed the duties of Commander Pakistan Fleet.
Four judges appointed in special courts of Pakistan
Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has served as Commandant of Pakistan Naval Academy, and is currently serving as Chief of Staff at Naval Headquarters.
He graduated from the National Defense University Islamabad and the US Naval War College. Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf is also a graduate of UK’s Royal College of Defense Studies.
Naveed Ashraf has also been the recipient of Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Basalat in recognition of his professional services and bravery.
