Chicken prices continue to rise

LAHORE: The prices of broiler chicken meat have witnessed a significant increase across the country since the start of this month.
In Lahore, there has been a sudden increase in the price of chicken meat, increasing by Rs. 40 per kilogram in two days to reach Rs. 595.
Today, the price rose by Rs. 18 per kg, following a Rs. 22 per kg increase yesterday.
In the wholesale market, live broiler chicken is priced at Rs. 395 per kg and Rs. 410 per kg in retail. The price of farm eggs has also increased by Rs. 1 per dozen, now costing Rs. 258.
The administration has also released the official rates for vegetables and fruits in the city. Among the vegetables, onion grade 1 is priced at Rs. 95 per kg, potatoes at Rs. 82 per kg, and tomatoes at Rs. 135 per kg.
KP increases salaries for government employees
Green chilies are set at Rs. 115 per kg, while ginger and desi garlic are priced at Rs. 610 and Rs. 370 per kg respectively. Desi cucumber is available at Rs. 75 per kg, fenugreek at Rs. 220 per kg, eggplant at Rs. 130 per kg, cauliflower at Rs. 120 per kg, and turnip at Rs. 110 per kg. Capsicum is listed at Rs. 160 per kg, desi lemon at Rs. 340 per kg, peas at Rs. 300 per kg, bottle gourd at Rs. 250 per kg, Chinese carrots at Rs. 85 per kg, and bitter gourd at Rs. 100 per kg.
In the fruits category, black apples are priced at Rs. 330 per kg, peaches at Rs. 210 per kg, and plums at Rs. 220 per kg. Dussehri mangoes are available at Rs. 145 per kg, phalsa at Rs. 310 per kg, lychee at Rs. 580 per kg, and jamun at Rs. 170 per kg. The price for grade 1 bananas is set at Rs. 145 per dozen.
