Chinese PM likely to address parliament on October 14


Chinese PM address to joint session

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Prime Minister (PM) Li Qiang will address the joint session of the parliament, which is likely to be held on October 14.

In preparation for the potential address, the Senate and National Assembly staff have had their scheduled leave from October 14 to 16 cancelled.

However, the final decision regarding the Chinese PM address to the parliament is expected within the next few days.

Russian, Chinese leaders set to attend SCO meeting in Islamabad

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang would be making an official visit to Pakistan from October 14 till 16 to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting for heads of government on October 16.

This will be the first visit by any Chinese prime minister to Pakistan in 11 years.

Pakistan is set to host the SCO heads of government meeting from October 15 to 16. The event would be preceded by a ministerial meeting and several rounds of senior officials’ meetings focused on financial, economic, socio-cultural, and humanitarian cooperation among the SCO member states.
