ISLAMABAD: In a recent development during the proceedings of the cipher case at Adiala Jail on Friday, the court granted permission for family members of the accused to attend. Notably, family members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and vice chairman have been allowed to be present during the hearings. Both accused individuals were in attendance during the session.

The court sanctioned the presence of five members from each accused’s family to witness the proceedings. During today’s hearing, the wife and daughter of PTI vice chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, observed the jail court proceedings.

However, despite the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presenting three witnesses in the courtroom, the absence of clearance from senior counsel prevented any immediate legal action. The testimony of these witnesses and its potential impact on the case remain shrouded in mystery.

In a related development, the court issued a summon to the jail superintendent regarding a scheduled meeting between the PTI chairman and his sons. The court adjourned the hearing until Tuesday, November 14, at 9 am.
