LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Punjab has launched Pakistan’s first virtual women’s police station, “Meri Awaz, Maryam Nawaz,” in Lahore.

As per her instructions, Lahore now boasts a network of over 50 Free Wi-Fi spots across the city,

Under this initiative, a total of 100 new Emergency Pink 15 Buttons have been installed throughout the city for immediate access to safety services. Furthermore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a Free Wi-Fi Project in 50 locations across Lahore, expanding internet access for the public.

Artificial Intelligence is being used in Lahore to address 19 traffic violations. Through features like Live Chat, Video Calls, Punjab Police App, and Safe City Web Portal, women can now easily connect with the Virtual Women Police for assistance and report their concerns without revealing their identity.

The Virtual Women Police Station, established under the special directives of the Chief Minister, aims to address various issues, including harassment, on a priority basis. Women can share their problems with complete confidentiality and trust without disclosing their identity.

Moreover, women will not be required to physically visit police stations unnecessarily, thanks to the Virtual Women Police Station. The introduction of a Live Video Call feature allows women to highlight their current location and issues they are facing for immediate assistance.

Over 50 Free Wi-Fi spots have been launched across Lahore, enabling immediate access to safety services by pressing the Pink 15 Button installed at universities, colleges, markets, intersections, and markets.

Complaints against crimes, police officers, and officials can be lodged without revealing identity through the functional mechanism of IG 1787 Help Line and Safe City Authority Web Portal.
