‘Dark day’ of May 9 will never recur: PM promises martyrs’ families

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday assured the families of martyrs that the “dark day” of May 9 will not occur again.

He made those comments while addressing the ceremony held to tribute to the martyrs on the ‘first anniversary’ of May 9 at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad

The Prime Minister expressed pride in the presence of martyrs and their families, stating that the entire nation pays tribute to them. He also acknowledged that the families of martyrs shared stories of bravery and resilience.

Earlier today, describing May 9 as “The Black Day” Pakistan’s armed forces made it clear that “there can neither be any compromise with the planners, facilitators and executors” of the May 9 violence nor “they would be allowed to hoodwink the law of land”.
