Deadly kite string injures toddler

MIANWALI: Deadly kite string has injured a two-year-old toddler in Daud Khel area of Mari Indus, according to the police.

The police received a report that a 2-year-old boy was fatally injured after a kite string slit his throat

DPO Mianwali Matiullah Khan took notice of the incident

On the complaint of the child’s father, a case has been registered against the kite seller named Mohammad Asghar and the accused has been taken into custody.

Further legal action is being taken against the arrested accused Muhammad Asghar.

DPO Mianwali Mutiullah Khan  said that people involved in bloody and deadly sports like kite flying do not deserve any exemption.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz expressed her concern and indignation over the failure to prevent kite flying.

She said,”Kite flying has become a blood sport and a punishable crime.”

She added, “It cannot be allowed to put a citizen’s life at risk for fun.”

CM Maryam also directed the authorities concerned to take effective measures to deal with the menace of kite flying.

Earlier on Friday a motorcyclist lost his life on the spot due to a kite string accident on Dijkot Road.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Asif Ashfaq from Barafwala Chowk, Sumanabad, was en route from Novelty Bridge to Jhang Bazar when the incident took place.

Upon reaching near Jatt Brothers Steel Store, a kite string entangled around his neck, severing his jugular vein.
