DG FIA, IG KP removed from their posts

ISLAMABAD: Director General Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir and Inspector General (IG ) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Akhtar Hayat have been removed from their posts.
Notifications to this effect have been issued by the Cabinet Division.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has granted his approval in this regard.
According to sources, DG FIA has been removed over his poor performance regarding incidents of human trafficking. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had expressed his anger over the reports submitted by the DG FIA Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir and had instructed for his removal.

DG FIA has been made officer on special duty (OSD) and transferred to the establishment division, according to the notification.
Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir was a 21 grade officer in the police service cadre.
IG KP Akhtar Hayat has also been removed from his post and has been directed to report to the establishment division, according to the notification.
Zulfiqar Hameed, a grade 21 officer, has been appointed as new IG KP with immediate effect, according to the notification.
