Bangladeshi High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan emphasized the importance of education, calling it the “backbone of society.”
Pakistan and Bangladesh were once one country but separated after a violent civil war. The region known as East Pakistan became the independent nation of Bangladesh.
Since then, Bangladesh’s leaders, especially Sheikh Hasina’s government, have remained close to India, keeping Pakistan at a distance. However, after Hasina’s government was removed in August, relations between Dhaka and Islamabad have started to improve. Trade and diplomatic ties are now getting better.
Early this week during his visit to ICCI the envoy revealed that cargo flights between Dhaka, Karachi and Lahore would also commence soon, further facilitating trade and business exchanges.
Hussain highlighted Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening business partnerships with Pakistan, emphasising the ease of obtaining Bangladeshi visas online for Pakistani citizens.
