Earthquake tremors felt in parts of Punjab

LAHORE: Earthquake tremors of magnitude 5.1 were felt in various parts of Punjab on Thursday morning. The tremors created panic and many people came out of their offices and houses reciting the Kalma.

Tremors were felt in Lahore, Jhelum, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat, Patuki, Dina, Sialkot and Sargodha.

The earthquake tremors that were felt in various areas of Punjab was of magnitude 5.1, according to the Richter scale.

The epicenter was near Kharian, and the quake originated at a depth of 15 kilometers below the surface, according to the National Center for Seismology.

The quake had a longitude of 73.82 East and a latitude of 32.88 North.

No loss of life or property has been reported.
