Earthquake tremors shake Swat, surrounding areas

SWAT: Residents of Swat and neighbouring areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were startled by tremors on Monday as an earthquake struck the region. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake’s depth was recorded at 151 km, with the epicentre located in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

No immediate reports of significant damage or casualties have been received, though authorities continue to assess the situation. Emergency services have urged residents to remain calm and vigilant in case of aftershocks.
