ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) remains in the spotlight as it enters the fourth day of deliberations on objections to preliminary constituencies. After a brief hiatus of two days, the Commission has resumed hearing complaints related to constituencies, ensuring a thorough review of the electoral landscape.

Today’s focus is on several key regions, including Multan, Mansehra, Bitgram, and Jhang, where objections regarding constituencies will be meticulously examined. However, the scope of scrutiny extends beyond these areas, as objections concerning constituencies such as Karachi West, Karachi Central Kemari, Wazirabad, Umarkot, Waziristan, Lucky Marwat, Bajaur, Shangla, Bannu, Qala Saifullah, Zhob, and Shirani are also under consideration.

In an effort to expedite the process, the ECP has established two dedicated benches to hear objections, ensuring a streamlined and thorough assessment of the submitted concerns.

Notices have been duly dispatched to the objectors, summoning their presence for the hearing scheduled on November 3, indicating a commitment to a fair and transparent resolution of the objections raised.

In total, a substantial number of objections, amounting to 1,324, have been submitted to the ECP from across all provinces and Islamabad. The objections are distributed as follows: 672 in Punjab, 228 in Sindh, 293 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 124 in Balochistan, and 7 in Islamabad. This extensive review of objections underscores the significance of the Election Commission’s role in ensuring a credible and democratic electoral process.
