ECP reports voter registration surpassing 130 million

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reported that the number of registered voters in the country has risen above 130 million.
According to the election commission, over 131.53 million Pakistanis are eligible to vote.

Punjab leads with over 74.89 million voters, boasting the highest voter registration in the entire country of 240 million.
ECP accounted for 27.59 million voters in Sindh, and 22.40 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, Balochistan has 5.49 million voters, while the federal capital, Islamabad, accounts for just 1.15 million.
The ECP has faced mounting criticism regarding its handling of electoral process, particularly following the 2024 general election.

Various political parties accused the government body of mismanaging election results, with even more serious concerns of transparency and integrity of the electoral system in a country long marred by dictatorships.
