Elderly nikah khawan goes missing after performing wedding ceremony

GUJRANWALA: In a tragic incident in Gujranwala, a 75-year-old Nikah Khawan, Qari Asif, went missing after falling into an open sewage drain near a marriage hall. The elderly cleric had travelled from Wazirabad with the wedding procession to officiate the Nikah ceremony.

According to rescue sources, the incident occurred when Qari Asif, after completing the marriage proceedings, was leaving the wedding hall.

While walking near the hall, his foot slipped, causing him to fall into the open drain. The sudden accident left the guests and the wedding party in shock.

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, and a search operation was launched to locate the missing nikah khawan. As of now, efforts are ongoing to find Qari Asif, but the situation remains critical.
