Elections 2024: interior ministry sends summary to cabinet division for deployment of army

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has submitted a summary to the cabinet for the deployment of the army during the general election in 2024 to address security concerns.

Upon approval of the summary sent by the Interior Ministry by the caretaker cabinet, the army will be mobilized to ensure the security of the upcoming general elections.

Sources indicate that the Election Commission has requested the deployment of 277,000 military personnel, including Pakistan Army, Rangers, and FC personnel, to safeguard the electoral process.

Elections 2024: PML-N issues list of NA candidates

The general elections are scheduled to be held in the country on February 8, for which preparations have entered the final stages. The Election Commission has also frozen the funds of all local bodies.
