Enemy propaganda will not succeed: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir hosted former officers of the armed forces and paid tribute to their services and dedication, recognising their important role in shaping the nation’s history.

The COAS expressed deep appreciation for the ex-servicemen who have continued to contribute to the development and growth of Pakistan even after their retirement, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

“Ex-servicemen continue to play an important role in the development and growth of Pakistan”, COAS Syed Asim Munir said.

He also warned against the severe threat posed by fake news and propaganda, disseminated by hostile elements aimed at weakening the relationship between the people of Pakistan and the armed forces.

Highlighting the significance of unity in countering these challenges, the Army Chief asserted, “We will defeat all such futile efforts with the unwavering support of the nation, including our ex-servicemen.”

The retired officers, in turn, expressed their confidence and trust in the leadership of the Pakistan Army, reiterating their support in overcoming any security challenges faced by the country.

The event, according to the ISPR, is a testament to the unbreakable bond between the Pakistan Army and its ex-servicemen, showcasing the unity and commitment of the Pakistan Army towards the prosperity and security of the nation.

The ISPR statement read, “The Pakistan Army remains united in its commitment to the prosperity and security of the country, with the support of all its serving and retired members.”
