Farewell full court reference for CJP Qazi Faez Isa tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: A farewell full court reference will be held for outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa tomorrow (Friday).

The reference will be held at 10: 30 am.

The farewell full court reference will honour the contributions of Qazi Faez Isa as he prepares to step down from his role at the end of the month. However Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will not attend the reference as he is leaving for Makkah tonight to perform Umrah with his family.

Earlier CJP Isa declined a farewell dinner at the expense of the public treasury upon his retirement on October 25.

 In a letter to the Supreme Court’s Registrar Office, he conveyed his decision, stating that no official dinner should be arranged in his honour.

He pointed out that hosting such an event would cost approximately Rs2 million, which would come from public funds.

The letter emphasised that there is no need for a farewell dinner to be hosted by the Supreme Court in his honour.
