Govt appoints Rashid Mahmood Langrial as new FBR chairman

WEB DESK: The Government of Pakistan has announced the appointment of Rashid Mahmood Langrial as the new Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). This decision was confirmed in a notice issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Establishment Division.
According to the notice, Rashid Mahmood Langrial, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service and currently serving as Secretary of the Power Division, has been appointed to the FBR role under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973. The appointment is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
Langrial, who began his civil service career in 1995, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His extensive career includes roles such as Secretary of the Power Division, Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, Commissioner of Lahore Division, and Secretary of Agriculture in Punjab.
Additionally, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Power Parks Management Company (NPPMCL), Chairperson of the Lahore Ring Road Authority, and Secretary of Tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Early in his career, Langrial worked as an Assistant Commissioner in Sindh and later held positions as Deputy Secretary (Cabinet) and Deputy Secretary (Staff) in the Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) in Punjab.
