Female civil judge dismissed on corruption charges

LAHORE: A female civil judge and two other judicial officers have been indicted for exceeding their authority and corruption charges.
The punishments were approved in a meeting of the administrative committee chaired by Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aliya Neelam on Monday.
The notification of indictment has been issued after approval of CJ Aalia Neelum.
SC adjourns Article 63A hearing after Justice Muneeb’s no-show
As per notification, Judge Shazia Parveen who was performing her duties as officer-on-special-duty (OSD) judge in Lahore Civil and District Court was dismissed from service with immediate effect.
Civil Judge Shahbaz Hussain’s pay scale was halted for a period of three years and has been demoted four levels.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdullah Hussain was awarded censure punishment.
CJ Aalia Neelum pronounced the verdict after hearing arguments of judicial officers and overseeing the record.
