ISLAMABAD: In a two-day anti-encroachment operation, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration have reclaimed 90 kanals of land in Sector G-14, according to officials.
According to APP. the operation, led by the Director of Enforcement & Vigilance, targeted illegal structures occupying public plots.
Director General FGEHA, Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal, reiterated their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments, underlining the importance of appropriate land use and improving housing facilities with better healthcare systems.
On the first day, authorities demolished seven illegal houses located on a hospital plot in G-14 Markaz and removed two unauthorized structures from plots No. 14-A and 14-B on Street 118.
The operation continued on the second day, clearing 12 plots on Street 65-A, 16 plots on Street 64-D, six plots on Street 74, and 11 plots each on Streets 74-A and Major Double Road 802. In total, over 90 kanals of encroached land were reclaimed.
The operation was initiated after intelligence reports identified significant illegal encroachments at a hospital site, which were worth billions of rupees and posed a threat to the planned healthcare infrastructure in the area.
Before launching the operation, FGEHA conducted thorough assessments, coordinated a strategic plan, and ensured adequate personnel for maintaining order. Legal notices were issued in advance, and heavy machinery was deployed to clear the encroachments.
