ISLAMABAD: Major routes in Islamabad have reopened after four days of closure, restoring normalcy to daily activities. Traffic is now flowing smoothly on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
Daily commuters faced significant challenges traveling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with over four blockages affecting major roads, especially for those coming from DHA Phase 2 and other areas of Rawalpindi.
Although Google Maps offered some assistance, many travelers faced disruptions and were stuck in traffic due to the multiple blockages.
The situation has now improved as containers have been removed or moved to the side of the Islamabad Expressway, allowing traffic to pass smoothly from DHA Phase 2 to Aabpara.
The Faizabad Interchange, along with other key roads, has also resumed regular traffic flow, bringing much-needed relief to commuters.
Despite the improved road situation, the Metrobus service in Islamabad remains partially suspended.
According to district authorities, the service between Rawalpindi Saddar Station and Faizabad has resumed, while the route from Faizabad to Pak Secretariat remains completely halted.
