FIA confirms 45 more Pakistani deaths on Greece boat

GUJRANWALA: In the ongoing investigations following Greece boat capsizing incident, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has confirmed the loss of 45 more individuals from Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal.

The FIA’s Additional Deputy Director (ADD), Qaiser Bashir, said that 18 families of the missing victims have submitted applications.

He informed that 4 accused have been arrested after cases were registered against them while 14 more cases will be registered on Tuesday.

He mentioned that the Punjab Forensics Lab (PFL) has also obtained DNA samples from 36 heirs for cross-verification. “Once the forensic lab completes its analysis, the results will be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for further action”, Bashir added.

Meanwhile, FIA has deployed 14 investigation teams across different cities in a bid to arrest the rest of the alleged culprits involved as agents in the human trafficking case in the next day or two.
