Fire breaks out at kavish crown plaza Karachi

KARACHI: A fire erupted at the Kavish Crown Plaza at Shahra-e-Faisal in Karachi on Friday morning. Fire brigade vehicles have been dispatched to the scene.

Fire brigade officials confirmed that the fire started on the first floor, where diesel caught fire and spread to generators, eventually reaching the second floor.

Due to the building being sealed from all sides, thick smoke accumulated inside, making evacuation difficult. Firefighters are using fire meters to extract the smoke.

Three fire tenders have reached the site and are making efforts to contain the fire and to evacuate the people trapped in the building, according to the rescue officials. Additional fire tenders have also been summoned to control the blaze.

The Kavish Crown Plaza is a commercial complex and houses multiple private offices. The building’s strategic location on one of Karachi’s main thoroughfares makes it a central hub for numerous enterprises

Rescue efforts are in progress to evacuate people trapped inside.

Many people have been evacuated, while some have been shifted to the rooftop due to a lack of safety equipment and a fire exit in the Kavish Crown Plaza. At least 10 individuals are still trapped inside the burning building.

Fire brigade teams are working tirelessly to extinguish the flames, while rescue personnel are evacuating trapped individuals using staircases.
