Five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims die in road accident

JEDDAH: Five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women, died and several were injured in a road accident near Al-Badr while on its way to Madina Munawwara.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a passenger bus carrying Pakistani umrah pilgrims collided with a trailer near Al-Badr, en route to Madina Munawwara.
All the deceased were Pakistani nationals. The injured include women, children, and elderly individuals, who were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, rescue sources confirmed.

Sources said that the victims belonged to Bahawalnagar district in Punjab, Pakistan.
Of the three women who died, two were residents of village 228/9-R and have been identified as Amina and Rukhsana Bibi, while the third was from village 201 Murad near Bahawalnagar.
Among the male victims, one elderly man identified as Manzoor Hussain was from village 39/3-R, and the other was from Dahranwala city.
The Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia is assisting with the formalities related to the possible repatriation of the deceased and medical care for the injured.
