Five security personnel martyred in in Kurram IED blast: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: At least five security personnel were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Kurram district of Kyhber Pakistunkhwa.

According to a press release issued by the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the martyrs are Havaldar Aqeel Ahmed, Lance Naik Tafeer, Sepoy Anush, Sepoy Muhammad Azam Khan and Sepoy Haroon.

According to the ISPR, security forces are carrying out clearance the operation in the area, vowing to stamp out terrorism from the country.

“These sacrifices strengthen our resolve to fight the menace of terrorism to make the country a safe place for the people,” the ISPR said.

On June 9, at least seven army men including a captain were martyred in an improvised explosive device attack in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
