General Sahir Shamshad Mirza attends PLA founding day ceremony

RAWALPINDI: The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza attended the “commemoration ceremony of 97th founding day of People’s Liberation Army of People’s Republic of China” as a Chief Guest, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed on Friday.
As per the announcement, the chairman JCSC praised the Chinese military for its role in the East Asian country’s growth and rapid modernisation. General Mirza also talked about the importance in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

“The Chairman JCSC congratulated the people, civilians and military leadership, and all ranks of People’s Liberation Army, and praised the role of People’s Liberation Army in China’s development and its rapid modernisation to become an important force for regional peace and stability”, the statement stated.
General Mirza talked about the close friendship between China and Pakistan, while pledging to strengthen and deepen the relationship even further.
“While addressing the audience, the Chairman JCSC highlighted close and fraternal “All Weather Friendship” between China and Pakistan and reaffirmed commitments to further expand and deepen the relationship”.
The statement also discussed Pakistan’s strong commitment to collaborate with China on defense and regional peacekeeping efforts.
“During the speech, the Chairman JCSC also underscored Pakistan’s firm commitments to work closely with China on CPEC, defence cooperation and regional peace and stability”.

The announcement ended with “the ceremony was attended by a large number of civilians and military officers, journalists, businessmen and members of the civil society”.
