RAWALPINDI: An Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) has imposed a travel ban on all individuals accused in the GHQ attack case, barring them from leaving the country.
The ATC has formally directed the Director General of Immigration to ensure the accused could not travel abroad.
The court ruled that any overseas travel by the accused was subject to prior approval. The travel restrictions has been imposed under Section 28A of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Sources said that PTI’s founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has received an inspection note with his signature today.
Defence lawyers objected to the inclusion of Imran Khan’s name in the list of accused, arguing his name was not part of the original list of accused, terming the document “tampered.”
The court has scheduled November 25 for the indictment of the accused including Imran Khan in the case.
Twenty-three individuals have already been declared absconders, and permanent arrest warrants have been issued for them.
The absconders include notable figures such as Shahbaz Gill, Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar and Zulfi Bukhari.
