The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who emphasised the importance of a comprehensive plan for the project. Naqvi has formed a special committee to draft the plan and has ordered the submission of final recommendations within 15 days.

“The Prime Minister has directed the establishment of Safe City projects in Dasu and Chilas,” Naqvi stated. “These projects will be implemented according to modern requirements similar to those in Islamabad and Lahore. The Safe City initiative is not just about installing cameras but creating a sophisticated system equipped with cutting-edge technology.”

The Interior Minister highlighted that the project would ensure comprehensive security and surveillance in the region. He confirmed that the Islamabad Police would provide full support for the initiative. He has tasked WAPDA, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and the Islamabad Police with jointly preparing the plan.
