The picturesque town nestled in the Himalayan foothills has attracted visitors eager to enjoy its scenic views before returning to work and school on Monday.
The throng of tourists prompted the local Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) to implement strict measures to ensure smooth traffic flow. Officials have been directed to assist the large number of travelers navigating the winding roads of Murree.
According to the CTO, approximately 49,000 vehicles have entered Murree since the beginning of Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. Around 7,500 tourist vehicles are currently present in the hill resort.
Tourists continue to arrive in Murree unabated despite the challenges posed by heavy rain. The Met Office also issued landslide and flash flood warnings for northern Punjab on Saturday, including Murree.
Despite relentless rainfall posing challenges for traffic management amidst the ongoing tourist influx, the CTO assured the public of meticulous arrangements to minimize weather-related disruptions on the roads.
