Hot, dry weather to persist in Karachi till the weekend

KARACHI: Karachi is expected to experience hot and dry weather till the weekend, according to the Meteorological Department.

Today, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26°C.

As of now, the current temperature in the city stands at 28°C. Winds are blowing from the northwest at a speed of 5 km/h, according to the Met Office.

Humidity levels in the city are high, with a recorded rate of 81 per cent, further adding to the discomfort of residents.

The weather in Karachi is likely to remain the same in the coming days as no significant weather system is expected to bring relief.

However, according to the met office, a gradual decrease in the ongoing hot spell is expected from Sunday, with some disruptions in the sea breeze.

The city is likely to see hot days followed by cooler evenings, PMD said in its synopsis.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised citizens to take necessary precautions and stay hydrated during the ongoing heatwave.
