ISLAMABAD: The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has predicted that Ramadan will last 29 days this year, with Eidul Fitr expected on March 31, 2025.
According to the committee, the Eid moon is likely to be sighted on March 30 in most parts of Pakistan. At that time, the moon will be 26 hours old, making it visible under normal sighting conditions.
If Ramadan lasts 29 days, Eid will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, with official holidays from March 31 to April 2 (Monday to Wednesday). However, if Ramadan extends to 30 days, Eid will fall on Tuesday, April 1, and holidays will continue until April 3 (Tuesday to Thursday).

With the public sector already off on Saturday and Sunday, this schedule could give government employees up to six consecutive holidays.
The exact date of Eid is determined by the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon, following Islamic tradition.
