IG Punjab applauds installation of 350 CCTVs in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, lauded the Safe City Project during his visit to the Civil Lines Police Station, highlighting its role in bolstering surveillance in Rawalpindi.

Accompanied by high-ranking officers, including Regional Police Officer Syed Khurram Ali and City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, the IGP acknowledged the Punjab caretaker government’s initiative to install 350 CCTV cameras in Rawalpindi, supported by a Rs10 billion allocation.

Emphasising the importance of modernising law enforcement facilities, Dr Usman Anwar directed all police stations to deliver exemplary services to citizens, cautioning against lapses in responsibility.

During the visit, he inspected various police stations, reinforcing his commitment to upgrading facilities for both personnel and the public.

Dr Usman Anwar noted that, under the guidance of Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, efforts are underway to modernise police stations and offices across the province.

The IGP urged supervisory officers to personally oversee pending work, ensuring timely completion.
