Imran Khan refuses to take a lie detector test

Imran Khan refuses lie detector test

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has refused to undergo polygraph ( a lie detector test) and voice matching test as a part of investigation launched by Lahore police regarding May 9 cases.

A 12-member team, led by DSP Javed Asif and including officials from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), arrived at Adiala Jail, where Mr Khan has been imprisoned for nearly a year.

The team, which included investigation officers (IOs) of the cases and PFSA experts Abid Ayub and Inspector Waqas Khalid, tried to question the former premier and perform the necessary tests.

Imran Khan resisted attempts by the Lahore police to subject him to a lie detector test, voice matching, and photogrammetry tests.

“I am under scrutiny by multiple institutions and won’t undergo any tests for now. I’ll give the police time later for these tests,” he declared, rebuffing the Punjab Forensic Science Agency’s experts.

US “concerned” over PTI leaders’ arrests

The investigative team paid a visit to Adiala Jail, where the former prime minister is held. Initially, the PTI chairman clammed up, citing distrust in the police.

DSP Javed Asif then appealed to Imran, assuring him that justice would be served. Following this assurance, the PTI founder broke his silence and responded to questions for about 15 minutes.
