Income Tax returns date not to be extended: FBR

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided not to extend the date for submission of income tax returns.

A spokesman for the Federal Board of Revenue announced no extension of the tax return filing date.

The spokesperson said that FBR has given time till September 30 for submission of tax returns, which will not be extended.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO YOU NEED?

To file your income tax returns smoothly, ensure you have the following documents readily available (applicable dates are July 01, 2023 to June 30, 2024):

For Individuals & AOPs:

Login Credentials: Your username and password for the FBR’s IRIS portal.

Income Records: Documentation of all income earned during the year (e.g., salary slips, rental income receipts, business income statements).

Expense Records: Receipts and invoices for expenses incurred, categorized for deductions (e.g., utilities, medical expenses, travel receipts).

Major Expenditures: Documentation for significant expenses like foreign travel, weddings, or large gatherings.

Profit on Debt: Records of any interest income earned on investments or savings accounts.

Salary Certificate: If employed, your official salary certificate from your employer.
